GYM MEMEBERSHIP IS FAVOURITE EMPLOYEE PERK.

Gym Membership has been ranked higher than traditional employee perks in a poll . Employee perks have shifted in focus and benefits such as free parking, store vouchers and bonds are no longer as desirable as a Gym membership. Bosses realise that fitness is becoming increasingly popular, and it is thought that employees are more proactive and free from stress if they exercise.

OLDER CAN MEAN FASTER.

Older runners are speeding up more rapidly than their younger competitors. While flexibility and elasticity(which effects power and speed) decline with age, Aerobic capacity and cardiovascular fitness remain fairly constant. The finishing times of all runners in the New York marathon between 1983-2000 were looked at and discovered that finishers from the older age groups showed the greatest increase in speed.

OVERWEIGHT CHILDREN HAVE DISEASES OF MIDDLE AGE.

A report from the British Medical association entitled preventing childhood Obesity highlights that doctors are now seeing in children and young prople diseases and disorders once found only in the middle-aged and elderly. These include type 2 diabetes, problems with joints and raised blood pressure. This is an hugh issue as there are now a million obese children under 16 in the UK.

Nearly half of exercisers arrive at the Gym already dehydrated, according to a leading survey. Researchers studied 300 exercisers at a health club. Even slight dehydration can result in reduced endurance, making your workout feel harder. Ensure you always drink enough water before going to the gym a or exercise class.
